Student.  Journalist.  Creator.

Alex Seise has always known he was destined for something exciting, something fascinating.  He embarked on his career path when he applied to The College of New Jersey and has been there since August 2005.  Now a junior studying Journalism and Professional Writing, Alex is looking forward to a career in magazine writing and editing.

Why, you may ask, is he delving into a career with long hours, minimal pay and hard, intricate work?  It all started several decades ago when the late Robert Juppé began a journalistic legacy working as an education reporter for a small paper in North Jersey.  Juppé would have six children with his wife Gloria; one of his daughters would eventually give birth to Alex, and one of his sons would savor writing as an educator and frequent contributor to journals and other publications.

The legacy continued for the third generation when Alex became editor-in-chief of both his high school newspaper and magazine.  He would graduate Valedictorian of the class of 2005, and his passion for writing would drive him to search for strong journalism programs at several colleges.  He was accepted at The College of New Jersey, whose intense journalism program is powered by media professionals impassioned by the sharing of their wisdom and tips of the trade.  During his junior year, he interned at the prestigious Philadelphia Inquirer where his first byline was published on September 14, 2007—Robert Juppé’s birthday.

Besides writing, Alex enjoys photography, design and savoring all things nature has to offer.  He would love to move to the state of Maine after graduating and work in a small town for a tiny magazine.  His favorite color is crimson and his favorite book is The Count of Monte Cristo.

Alex always strives to learn and apply his knowledge to tangible projects.  His fascination with creating cohesive, all-inclusive projects drives him as an optimist and as a perfectionist and renders all of his projects professional and well-produced.

Says Alex, “Life is much too short to sit by the side of the road and watch it pass by.  I pride myself in working hard and creating good things.  Though seemingly small, it is my hope that my efforts will, somehow or another, make the world slightly more beautiful and knowledgeable.  It gladdens me when even one person notices my work and takes even just a smile away from it.”
